ABOUT Heinz Bentele:

Heinz Bentele (1902 - 1983) was active in Germany and was widely known for his religious sculptures. He studied at the Kölner Kunstschule (Cologne School of Arts and Crafts), and later studied under Wallner in Vienna. His bronze sculptures have become highly sought after by art, antique and religious collectors; with pieces selling through Christie’s, Bonhams and other auction houses in London and Europe.

ABOUT Judas Iscariot:

Judas Iscariot was one of the original twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, known for betraying Jesus to religious authorities for 30 pieces of silver. He is central to the narrative of the Passion, identifying Jesus with a kiss in the Garden of Gethsemane, leading to his arrest and crucifixion. He is a symbol of ultimate betrayal.
