The picture features a man in a bowler hat, seen from behind, seated in a small room, staring out through a window. Beyond the window is a long-haired male figure, wearing a loincloth, probably Jesus Christ, being crucified. A very large Art Deco, opaline style glass pendant light appears to be ostensibly levitating, outdoors, beyond the crucifixion. One might say that this painting offers a fusion of three artistic genres — figure, landscape and still life — with a Surrealist twist.
