17th Century, Spanish School, Framed, Oil on Copper, Mary Magdalene (Spanish).

Circa 1680, After Bartolome Esteban (1617-1682), of the original titled 'La Magdalena' that was completed in 1860.

The painting depicts Mary Magdalene in a penitent attitude.

CONDITION:

Wear commensurate with age. Copper in good condition. Frame has minor dents (as shown).

PROVENANCE:

Purchased from the private collection of a high-ranking Catholic Priest who emigrated from Barcelona, Spain to London in 1986. Its reported that the Priest had requested to purchase two specific pieces of art from his residence in the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gòtic) upon his retirement.
